Unlock Simulator

You can use this page to keep track of your solves and see what puzzles would have unlocked during the hunt. Just mark the checkbox for any puzzle you've solved. This page saves its state to local storage, so your progress will be saved (on the same browser) if you refresh or exit the page.

Some things to keep in mind are:

  • Some puzzles will be denoted with 🍄. These puzzles are meant to be smaller than other puzzles. We recommend checking these out if you'd like to take a break from the longer puzzles in the hunt. However, the non-🍄 puzzles will count more than 🍄 puzzles towards unlocks.
  • Some puzzles may not have an answer submission box. These puzzles will be solved once you see "🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉" displayed.
  • The puzzle width is smaller than we would've liked. If you find yourself with a limited number of puzzles and want to unlock a new one, feel free to go to the List of Puzzles and work on the next puzzle in the round. If you solve that puzzle before any others, you can mark any unsolved puzzle in the round as "solved." This will have the same effect in unlocking.
  • The intended meta unlock conditions are 4/6 for Creatures Hollow, 3/4 for The Trial of Silence, and 4/5 non-🍄 puzzles (plus any number of 🍄) for The Witch's Hut. In particular, the meta for The Witch's Hut unlocks only after solving the other two, so we recommend completing those rounds first before finishing off The Witch's Hut. If you're feeling particularly daring, you can open the metas before these conditions are met.
  • We recommend checking out the round art pages as you solve, too — they're beautiful and we'd hate for them to go to waste! Start at Once Upon a Time..., and navigate to the other pages via the Crossroads once you've completed the first round.
  • The story is cute, but the static version of the story has everything unlocked from the start and contains spoilers for puzzles that you may not have solved yet. We recommend reading this at some point, but take caution to only read the pages relevant to the round(s) you just unlocked or the meta(s) you just solved.
